I don't wear my glasses as often as I'm supposed to. I thought I could escape genetics and have 20/20 vision for a lifetime. It was only in the last few years that I became plagued by nearsightedness. Thankfully, thats only in terms of eyesight and not imagination, aaayyyeeee :) It's been said that it's harder to design a chair than a skyscraper, and I can see why, how many more ways can you design a chair? Maybe the same can be said for eyewear? Personally, I try to stay within my own boundaries in hopes I don't regret my design choices in the future.

Initially, when I got the opportunity to design eyewear for BonLook, I had a more elaborate design that referenced Miles Davis, Yoko Ono, and Elton John, being that they all had the most iconic moments of IDGAF eyewear. So I went with something more simple, because up until that point, I was approaching the design as just the object itself, completely disregarding that making the design more personal would be beneficial — being someone who actually needed new glasses lol.

No top bar, metal frame, no curvature wrapping around the face, a cut out on the earpiece, and clear nose-pads to keep it classic — just enough vintage nuance without remaking the pair my dad wore in high school. So far, every friend I've given a pair to, the shape of the frame seems to fit most faces, which I'm happy about. You can order a pair (without prescription) here.
